Bullying: What to do...

Before deciding what to do in a bullying situation it it important to determine  if what occurred was indeed bullying.  The flowchart to the right will help you decide if it is bullying or something else.  When someone disagrees with you or is rude, we may not like it, but it is NOT Bullying.  Someone can be mean, but the action may not be aggressive and repeated and there may not be an imbalance or power so it is NOT Bullying. You can tell your teacher if someone is being mean or rude and they will contact the school counselor who can help you with your conflict. If however,  someone is hurting your body or feelings  on purpose and it is happens over and over again it is bullying. When this happens, it is important that you still tell your teacher who will then get an administrator involved.
